On The Line

It happens every single time
‘Cause it's what always happens
It’s only a matter of time
It can't be explained with reasons
The time escapes with my thoughts
Finding its refuge somewhere far
Unlike the sting that comes with every throb
That I feel it's going nowhere fast

I always put it on the line
Just like I put on the same perfume
Gaze at the same grey skyline
Whilst listening to the same old tunes
I always end up at the same place
That has given me all those scars
With my tears running down my face
Onto the side of my guitar

My tears are the drug that I need
To feel my numbness within
I let myself continue to bleed
It's just part of the same old routine
I will mend my wings some day
And fly out of this dreary place
Maybe I’d get back the days
That I waste giving into others' ways
